IC Local Terms & Conditions

The IC Local perks program is subject to the terms and conditions outlined below (“Terms and Conditions”). We may change the program including any Terms and Conditions, rules, processes, regulations, travel or other awards, and special offers at any time, with or without notice. These changes may affect, but are not limited to, partner affiliations and availability of any awards or special offers. In addition to IC’s termination rights set forth below, we reserve the right to terminate the entire program with six months advance notice to all then-active members. This means that the right of a member to accumulate and claim IC Local points can be terminated six months after we give notice. All IC Local Accounts (and the value thereof) unredeemed as of the conclusion of the six-month notice period shall be forfeited to IC without remuneration or any further obligation or liability, and no reward claims shall be honored thereafter.

Membership in IC Local is free and is available to individuals residing in countries that legally permit participation in frequent stay programs and who are 18 years of age and older. Participation in IC Local indicates acceptance of these Terms and Conditions as well as of any changes or modifications made to them. Employees of Hersha Hospitality Management and any of its subsidiaries and affiliates are not eligible to participate in IC Local.

IC may immediately suspend or cancel a Member’s IC Local account at any time without notice for any reason and its sole discretion, including without limitation, if IC believes the Member has breached or violated these Terms and Conditions, engaged in misuse or wrongdoing in connection with the IC Local, acted in a fraudulent, inappropriate, hostile or abusive manner, failed to pay any amount due to any IC subsidiary or affiliate, or acted in a manner inconsistent with any applicable law, regulation, rule or ordinance. Such termination will result in an automatic forfeiture of any unredeemed rewards or stay credits without remuneration and the member will no longer be able to participate in IC Local. Nothing contained in these Terms and Conditions shall limit IC in the exercise of its legal or equitable rights or remedies. Subject to applicable law, should IC ever file for or be subject to a bankruptcy proceeding, membership in IC Local will automatically terminate.

Rewards are subject to all applicable laws, rules, regulations, ordinances and may be subject to applicable taxes and fees. All taxes and fees are the sole responsibility of the recipient.
IC makes no representations, either expressed or implied, and we expressly disclaim any and all liability (including consequential damages) with respect to type, quality or fitness of goods or services provided through IC Local.

Neither IC nor IC Local partners are responsible for requests, applications or correspondence lost or delayed or theft or unauthorized redemption of IC Local rewards or other benefits. We are also not liable for any acts or omissions of third parties or any errors in relation to IC Local including but not limited errors involving pricing, descriptions of hotels, calculation of awards, participating hotels or errors in crediting or debiting stays. IC is not responsible for, and reserves the right to correct, any pricing or typographical errors, errors of description, or errors regarding participating hotels.

Members cannot have more than one IC Local account. Memberships are individual, non-transferrable and can only be used by the member whose name is listed on the account. Under no circumstances will members receive credit for any rooms booked by other individuals including, but not limited to, friends or family members. Corporations, associations and groups cannot enroll in individual IC Local accounts.

IC reserves the right to delete any IC Local account with no activity (as defined by hotel stays) for 24 months. IC Local points will expire if the member account has no activity for 24 months.
The sale or barter of any IC Local rewards or other benefits, other than by IC, is prohibited. IC Local points cannot be redeemed for cash.

Respecting member privacy is important. However, we may from time to time send members certain program information that may include, but is not limited to, marketing materials which will inform members of special offers and products we believe would be of interest to you. Members will be given the opportunity to opt-out from receiving marketing materials; however, we reserve the right to continue sending Members materials regarding IC Local or a member’sr account. All interpretations of these Membership Rules, terms and conditions shall be at the sole discretion of IC.

IN NO EVENT WILL IC OR ANY PARTICIPATING HOTEL BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, EXPEMPLARY, PUNITVE, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE ARISING OUT OF OR IN ANY WAY CONNECTED WITH THE IC LOCAL PROGRAM OR THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS.

 

TIER STATUS RENEWAL

IC Local status is valid for one membership year. The qualifying period for tier status is from January 1 through December 31 of each calendar year. Tier status will become active when a member meets the qualification requirements and will continue through the remainder of the qualifying year and the next succeeding calendar year. In the next succeeding full calendar year, the IC Local member’s tier will reflect the tier earned in the previous year and will advance if current year IC Local activity deems it necessary.

Members cannot purchase stay credits in order to advance tier status.

A “stay” is defined as one or more consecutive nights at the same hotel. Members cannot check out of the hotel and check back in for consecutive nights to earn additional stay credits.

REDEEMING IC LOCAL POINTS

By providing an IC Local Membership ID at the time of each eligible booking, members will earn stay credits that can be redeemed through the IC Local portal. Points can be redeemed for a certificate usable on our retail site, IC SHOP or as credit towards room night at a participating IC hotel.

All room night e-certificates have a one-year expiration from the date of redemption and cannot be redeemed for cash value. In order to book a room night using an e-certificate, members must call (267-886-1710). The certificate number must be given to the reservation agent and the certificate must be presented at time of check-in. Please note that room night certificate can only be used on eligible rates and redemption is subject to availability. Certain major event blackout dates apply for complimentary reward night redemption.

Reward nights must be booked at least 72 hours in advance. Any no show or cancellation made within the cancellation policy window will result in the member forfeiting the value of the room night voucher. Vouchers cannot be used for partial redemption. The Independent Collection reserves the right to modify any visit or reward postings made in error.

Room night vouchers are redeemable at all participating IC Hotels. Room night e-certificates can be used towards hotel city taxes but not resort fees. Daily resort fees where applicable will be the responsibility of the member using the e-certificate. e-certificates cannot be used towards a non-refundable rate (Advance Purchase).

When redeeming for a merchandise e-certificate, a member will receive an automated email containing a unique code that must be entered at check-out. Merchandise e-certificates have a three-year expiration from the date of redemption and cannot be redeemed for cash value.
