Summer is near, and with it comes a vibrant display of love, equality, and self-expression. We’re talking about Pride, the annual month-long celebration of LGBTQ+ communities and queer culture, joined together by rainbow flags, festivals, street parades, and more.

From the iconic boardwalks of SoCal to the dramatic cliffs of Monterey Bay, California’s coastal towns offer distinct ways to celebrate all summer long.

The summer season kicks off in June with Santa Monica’s month-long SaMo Pride, anchored by the lively Pride on the Promenade street festival on Saturday, June 13, 2026, featuring drag performances and live music right by the beach. Further north, the coastal community gathers for the Monterey Peninsula Pride Parade and Celebration on Saturday, June 27, 2026, which marches down Alvarado Street and finishes with a vibrant afternoon festival at Custom House Plaza.

The momentum continues into mid-summer with San Diego Pride running from July 11–19, 2026. The weekend officially kicks off Friday night with the emotional, high-energy Spirit of Stonewall Rally right under the giant Hillcrest pride flag, culminating in a massive parade through and a multi-stage weekend festival in Balboa Park. If you are hitting the coast later in the season, keep the party going at Hillcrest CityFest on Sunday, August 9, 2026.

WASHINGTON, D.C. 

The epicenter of American politics, Washington, D.C., is a leader in LGBTQ+ advocacy and home to one of the world’s most diverse communities.

Along with the usual pomp and pageantry of Pride, D.C. kicks off its official celebration from June 12–21, 2026, under the powerful theme Exist. Resist. Have the Audacity! The week-long lineup brings together changemakers, local businesses, and allies to champion equal rights with incredible city-wide programming, pool parties, and rooftop brunches.

The crown jewel of the week is the historic Capital Pride Parade on Saturday, June 20, which fills the streets of the city with color and energy. The celebration continues straight into the Capital Pride Street Festival and Capital Pride Concert on Sunday, June 21, bringing a legendary block-party atmosphere to Pennsylvania Avenue with multiple stages of live entertainment, fantastic food vendors, and headlining performances.

Across town in Dupont Circle, the lively 17th Street Pride Block Party (June 20) honors the historic D.C. “gayborhood” and the unique local businesses that embody Pride each day. And to cap off an unforgettable weekend, don’t miss the annual Pride on the Pier fireworks show down at The Wharf!

If you are visiting in the summer instead, catch Arts Annapolis (June 13, 2026), which is stacked with live performances, public art, and creative community showcases.

Kick things off with the official Frederick Pride Parade on Friday, June 26, before heading to the Frederick Pride Festival at Carroll Creek Park on Saturday. The free, public event features food trucks, live music, drag performances, and a dedicated children’s area with interactive activities.

Round up your friends to keep the good vibes going all weekend long with a bustling local beverage garden, late-night after-parties, and the popular Sunday Pride Brunch Crawl through downtown.

Looking for a Pride party in Texas? El Paso Sun City Pride is the region’s largest LGBTQ+ organization, hosting a month-long celebration of family-friendly events, scholarship presentations, and lively nightlife.

The centerpiece of the festivities arrives on Saturday, June 27, 2026, with the 19th Annual Pride Parade marching through historic downtown El Paso, followed immediately by an all-ages post-parade picnic at Houston Park and the high-energy evening Neon PrideFest.

If you’re visiting a little later, don’t miss SPLASH on Sunday, July 5, 2026, the region’s largest Pride wave pool party taking over Wet ‘N’ Wild Waterworld with late-night waterslides, cocktails, and DJs.

Did you know Boston’s Pride parade is one of the largest LGBTQ+ celebrations in New England? More than 1 million people attended last year, and the momentum is only growing.

Boston’s Pride events are incredibly diverse, reflecting its spirited local communities. The main Boston Pride for the People Parade and Festival takes over the city on Saturday, June 6, 2026, marching from Copley Square to an all-ages festival on the Boston Common, alongside an energetic 21+ block party at City Hall Plaza.

Visitors can also look out for the annual Boston Dyke March, neighborhood block parties in Jamaica Plain and the Back Bay, and the official Boston Black Pride celebration running from July 1–5, 2026.

Visit the Stonewall Inn and Celebrate Big at NYC’s Iconic Street Parades

The Stonewall Riots of 1969 were a catalyst for the modern gay rights movement in America. The Greenwich Village bar is very much alive and well these days; in fact, it’s now recognized as a national monument. 

Inspired by this history, Manhattan hosts one of the largest Pride celebrations in the world. The official NYC Pride March and PrideFest street festival take place on Sunday, June 28, 2026, welcoming millions of visitors for larger-than-life exhibitions, rainbow floats, and activism.

The city-wide lineup also features Youth Pride on Saturday, June 27, alongside major nightly dance events and community block parties across the boroughs.

Not to be outdone by its neighbor, Brooklyn hosts its own legendary festivities. Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 13, 2026, for the 30th Annual Brooklyn Pride Twilight Parade, the only nighttime Pride parade in the Northeast. Running along Fifth Avenue, the evening parade highlights a full week of Brooklyn celebrations, including a morning 5K fun run through Prospect Park, a multicultural festival, and the annual Pride Night at the ballpark with the Brooklyn Cyclones.

Not to be outdone by its Northeast neighbors, Philadelphia will host a supersized Pride celebration of its own. The weekend kicks off on Friday, June 5, 2026, with the elegant Promenade & L.U.V. Awards at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, a high-energy 21+ opening-night soirée dedicated to queer music history, fashion, and live performances.

The momentum builds through Saturday’s annual Philly Dyke March in the historic Gayborhood, leading into the main event on Sunday, June 7, 2026. The day begins with the March Into Pride stepping off from Center City and culminates in the Pride Festival, which takes over its new location on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway with live stages, food vendors, and a new makers market.

While you are in town, check out the historic Philly AIDS Thrift at Giovanni’s Room. Located right in the heart of the Gayborhood, this iconic bookstore-meets-thrift-shop is packed with LGBTQ+ literature, local artwork, and secondhand fashion treasures.
