EarthView Sustainable Hospitality Program
At Independent Collection, we’ve implemented a triple-bottom line approach to serving people, planet, and profit. This initiative, called EarthView, is becoming an industry standard for fully integrated community and environmental programs that both positively affect a hotel’s bottom line while also improving the well-being of guests and local communities.
On the environmental front, many of our hotels have installed energy efficient lighting and use recyclable, biodegradable products wherever possible. Additionally, recycling and reuse programs encourage guests to join in the conservation effort as well. Within the community, IC Hotels have partnered with local organizations and events to raise money for worthy charities and causes. We also support water.org which provides innovative, market-based solutions that change lives every day through safe water and sanitation.

They also support the local artist scene through their NU Perspectives in-room mural program and partnership with Groundswell Community Art Program.
Duane Street Hotel in Tribeca, New York has tapped into the local fashion community to create Fashion for Autism, a program in partnership with Spectrum Designs Foundation, a non-profit apparel company to fully engage individuals with autism. Guests can purchase specially made t-shirts and totes in from the hotel in support of the foundation.
The Boxer in Boston is a partner in “Clean the World,” a program in which used soaps from guestrooms are donated to third-world countries. The hotel is also an active participant in supporting the Community Work Services organization through their Boston Chili Cup Competition and annual golf outing.
