On Saturday, June 21, 2025, the 43rd Annual Coney Island Mermaid Parade brings a tidal wave of creativity to Brooklyn’s iconic boardwalk. Starting at 1:00 PM, this vibrant procession features thousands of participants dressed as mermaids, sea creatures, and nautical characters, celebrating the start of summer with artistic flair. The parade begins at West 21st Street and Surf Avenue, moves east to West 10th Street, then proceeds to the boardwalk, culminating at Steeplechase Plaza under the Parachute Jump.
Spectators can enjoy a variety of performances, antique cars, and imaginative floats along the route. Following the parade, a beach ceremony officially opens the ocean for the summer swimming season.
