From April 23 to April 27, 2025, the Smithsonian Craft Show returns to the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C., showcasing the finest in American contemporary craft. This juried exhibition features 120 artists selected from hundreds of applicants, offering a diverse array of media including ceramics, glass, jewelry, metal, wood, and wearable art. The event highlights the innovative spirit of American artisans and supports the Smithsonian Women's Committee's mission to benefit Smithsonian programs and museums.
A special highlight of the 2025 show is the presentation of the Smithsonian Visionary Artist Award to Nick Cave, a renowned multimedia artist known for his unique fabric sculptures and performances. The award ceremony will take place during the Preview Night Benefit on April 23.
