Chart, Surface Chart

From Saturday, May 17, 2025 to Sunday, June 8, 2025 May 17, 2025 June 8, 2025 Independent Collection

From May 17 to June 8, 2025, Washington, D.C. will host WorldPride 2025, marking the 50th anniversary of Pride celebrations in the nation's capital. Organized by the Capital Pride Alliance, this historic event is expected to draw 2–3 million attendees from around the world, uniting to celebrate LGBTQ+ culture, advocate for equality, and honor the community's resilience.

The festivities span over three weeks and feature a diverse array of events, including the WorldPride Parade on June 7, which will transform Pennsylvania Avenue into a vibrant corridor of celebration. Other highlights include the Welcome Ceremony and Concert on May 31, the WorldPride Music Festival on June 6–7, and the International March and Rally on June 8.

WorldPride 2025 also encompasses a rich tapestry of cultural and human rights programming, such as the WorldPride Film Festival, the Capital Cup Sports Festival, and the Human Rights Conference from June 4–6. The event embraces inclusivity through partner events like Latinx Pride, Trans Pride, API Pride, Black Pride, Silver Pride, and Youth Pride.

Despite challenges, including shifts in U.S. policies affecting LGBTQ+ rights and concerns from international attendees, organizers are committed to ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all participants. WorldPride DC 2025 stands as a testament to the enduring spirit of the LGBTQ+ community and its allies, celebrating diversity and advocating for a more inclusive future.
